Queenstown

It was very hot last Sat, Dad and I joined the USKSG to sketch at Queenstown.. We went late and only managed to sketch the church right outside the mrt station.. as we missed the morning briefing, we didn’t know they changed the show-and-tell location to the community center until Pat came to get his car and kindly offered us a ride to the CC! We did another sketch outside block 47 after show-and-tell before heading home…

HK Trip

Haven’t updated for a while as I went back to HK for a short break. Did not bring the camera this time, just a small sketchbook and a pen. It was great to see family and friends again, but the trip was too short.

We took an early flight to HK.

The first thing we did after settling down is to go for a haircut. I had a very bad haircut a few months ago in SG and I need a fix so badly… felt much happier after the haircut. Then we went back to the hotel and take a short break before going to family dinner.

The next morning, we had dim sum brunch with a friend.

We went to Sha Tin to see the Picasso Exhibition in the afternoon, and had dinner at New Town Plaza with a friend.

The next day, we went to Sai Kung. We even took a small boat to one of the off islands. The boat ride was really fun. We had desserts at the famous HoneyMoon dessert place before going home for dinner.

South Bridge Road

Last weekend, I joined Master Chan Chang How and the USKSG group to sketch along South Bridge Road around Chinatown. Master Chan is one of the most excellent watercolor painters in Singapore, and it was a very valuable experience to sketch with him. He is a very warm and generous person, volunteer to organize a sketching session like this to share his knowledge in sketching and painting. It was really helpful to see him demonstrate how our sketches could be improved. A very inspiring session indeed.

Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple

This is a temple in the middle of Little India, Singapore. I only had a few minutes to sketch while my friends went inside to take a quick look of the temple.
