watercolor texture

I’ve been playing with watercolor texture recently. First, I painted some random watercolor my sketchbook, a Daler Rowney 4*6″ 100 g/m cream color one. Then I scanned the images in and adjusted them in Photoshop to create my own watercolor brushes.

These would come in really handy when I need to create some texture for my digital illustrations. It’s also really fun and de-stressing to just splash watercolors onto a paper and see how they run into each other.

The following illustration used one of my original scan as the background image.
